An issue is occurring with the update package released on 10/31 for the PS3 version of Real Steel. After loading the game, and then attempting to connect online, the game freezes.
As shown below, “NOW CHECKING” appears, and the game freezes.
We had announced a hold on the release of this update, but currently it is still possible to download it. We are currently in the process of taking down the problematic data and are working on a fix.
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to users whose game has frozen on attempting to connect online. Once we have resolved and have a solution to the problem, an announcement will be made on both the Real Steel official site and blog. We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as we resolve this issue.
Due to an unexpected issue with the update package, the update that was planned for release on 10/31 for the PlayStation(R)3 REAL STEEL has temporarily been put on hold.
We have received reports from users of the game freezing after downloading the update. A solution for users currently experiencing the issue will be announced on this blog as soon as possible.
We at Yuke’s deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused by this, particularly for users who were looking forward to the update.
A new release schedule for the update will be announced on this blog as soon as it is finalized.
*The update will be released on the Xbox360 version of the game on 10/31 as scheduled.
Well friends, the first installment of major updates to Real Steel is finally here. I hope you all enjoy yourselves a NEW Real Steel gaming experience!
I’d also like to mention that, starting today, the game will be released in Russia, meaning you can now battle against players from 30 countries around the world on the Xbox360®, and 44 countries on the PlayStation®3! In games and comics, Russia is often portrayed as a formidable force to be reckoned with…could this mean that a new group of super-elite players is joining in on the action!? (Let’s not forget that ZEUS was originally manufactured in Russia…)
My next post will contain another big announcement about the game’s updates, so check back again soon!
New updates for the game are just around the corner–and yet there is still some info I have yet to tell! Lemme tell you 2 more quick things!
1. New Tech Moves
2 new, powerful tech moves will be added!
Iron Fist: A move based on the art of karate.
Othello Grab: A submission move that leaves your opponent’s back vulnerable.
2. Exclusive Update for PlayStation®3
PlayStation®3 users, I am so sorry to have kept you waiting. I’m happy to inform you that all of the content previously released exclusively on the Xbox360® will finally be made available. New robot parts, tech moves, alternate color variations, and more–no doubt delivering you a greater Real Steel experience than ever before.
Look forward to all of the above coming out the first week of November!
*The release date for downloadable content on the PlayStation®3 version will differ depending on your region. Initial release is planned for 10/31, but in some regions, new content may not be available until 11/7. For this reason, it may be difficult to find a battle opponent online between 10/31 -11/7. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by this.
I’d like to give you some more info on the 1st anniversary updates.
I’m sure what you all are looking forward to most is the new robot parts. …introducing, MING!
This robot was designed after a kung fu master, and is a well-rounded set of parts notable for its fist’s revolutionary open finger design. Strap these parts to your robot, along with Iron Fist (one of the new tech moves), and you’ll be well on your way to crushing your rivals!
Buy the parts individually, or get them discounted by getting the whole set!
The new updates are to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of the game’s release…which means you’ve been enjoying one year of intense battling!
Let’s take a look at the leaderboards, exactly 1 year since the game’s release.
Xbox360® Cumulative Total
PlayStation® Cumulative Total
So how’d you all do? And what’re your expectations for your fights 1 year from now?
The key to that question just may lie in the new updates…
So what’s gonna be included in the 1st anniversary updates? Let me shed a little light on some of the new content.
1. Free Update Package
Includes improvements to the knock-down recovery system, the addition of the “stun signaler”, and THREE powerful new head parts…for free!
2. KO Rules Arena
No count-outs! No intervals! This new arena allows you to enjoy fast-paced KO matches in Multiplayer Mode, and of course online.
…and that’s not all! Stayed tuned for more info!!
